Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking teachers for IDEA Academy to ensure students master academic and social skills needed for college success, while modeling IDEA values daily.

Role involves ambitious goals for student achievement, planning rigorous instruction, data-driven interventions, and weekly progress updates to families, with 40+ hours at school weekly and opportunities for tutoring or Saturday school as needed.

Qualifications

• Teaching certification or field of study confirming subject expertise.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• K-12 classroom experience strongly preferred.
• Bilingual certification strongly preferred, ESL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track each student’s progress with formal and informal assessments and adjust plans weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with families weekly.
• Establish and maintain a behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
