Qualifications

• Must hold Elementary license (1-6) from MA DESE.
• Bachelor’s degree with license, or Master’s with license preferred within 5 years.
• Highly qualified with competency in the content area.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times.
• Plans a program of study that meets student needs, interests and abilities.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives.
• Prepares for classes with written evidence of preparation as required.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and media suited to students.
• Assesses student progress and provides required reports and communicates with parents.
• Maintains accurate records as required by policy and law.
• Diagnoses learning challenges and seeks district specialists as needed.
• Protects students, equipment and facilities, following safety guidelines.
• Follows school code of conduct and develops classroom rules.
• Plans and supervises paraprofessional assignments and provides evaluations.
• Pursues ongoing professional growth and participates in formal evaluations.
• Attends district meetings and school activities as scheduled.
