Qualifications

• Highly qualified with required competency in the content area.
• Appropriate content/ program area educator license (Elementary) and grade level (1-6) licensure from the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate license; or Master’s Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.

Responsabilités

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Guides the learning process toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives to students for all lessons, units and projects.
• Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, per location and student needs.
• Implements district philosophy, instructional goals and performance expectations.
• Assesses student progress regularly; provides progress reports and communicates with parents.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
• Diagnoses learning challenges and seeks district specialists as needed.
• Protects students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Follows the district’s code of conduct and enforces classroom rules fairly.
• Plans and supervises paraprofessional assignments; writes evaluations.
• Maintains ongoing professional growth per district requirements and personal goals.
• Participates in the teacher evaluation process and contributes to mutually agreed results.
• Attends meetings to promote communication and mutual decision making.
• Attends school activities (Back to School Night, Open House) as required by contract.
• Contributes to district and building decisions on budget, facilities, curriculum, and well‑being.
• Maintains commitment to professional competence.

Formation

Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate license

Master’s Degree with appropriate content area license preferred
