Job summary

The YMCA of the Suncoast is seeking staff to supervise and engage children in structured activities. You will introduce rules, schedules and activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

Applicants should be able to work with diverse families, demonstrate reliable communication, and uphold YMCA values. CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of hire, with additional trainings within six months.

Qualifications

• CPR, AED and First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age and able to work well with children.
• Understanding of YMCA goals and movement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise children directly.
• Introduce children to rules, activities, daily schedules and area.
• Ensure safety and welfare of each child, including attendance.
• Report accidents to Supervisor and complete health/incident forms.
• Plan and implement activity plans for special interest activities.
• Create a nurturing, safe environment and report any suspicious activity.
• Model SMART behavior and uphold conduct standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
