Job summary

Michaels Stores in Allen, TX seeks an energetic Events Coordinator to plan and execute store events, including kids' birthday parties, crafts classes, and related activities. You will engage guests, teach simple projects, and upsell event add-ons while ensuring a friendly, fast checkout and great store experience.

You will support daily store operations, assist customers with product locations, participate in BOPIS/SFS processes, and help maintain safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with children and children’s events.
• Excellent written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Retail or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s parties and crafts classes.
• Engage clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, and perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate add-ons like goody bags and balloons to brand standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans for events.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety before/after events.
• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
• Participate in BOPIS and Ship From Store processes.
• Assist with stock, planograms, and recovery tasks.
• Cross train in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Daily store cleanliness activities.
