Job summary

Michaels is seeking a dynamic Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate in-store events, including children's parties, at our San Antonio location. You will engage guests, teach craft activities, and support add-ons like goody bags and balloons to enhance the guest experience.

The role requires energy, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task across events while maintaining store standards and safety. Previous experience with kids' events and strong communication are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and children’s events preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate multiple events in the Michaels store, including kids birthday parties.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment.
• Demonstrate and guide participants in craft projects; perform face painting and related activities as needed.
• Coordinate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons, etc.) to meet company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team; handle emails and calls; complete paperwork.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback; create backup or emergency plans; ensure client satisfaction.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards; set up/break down events; assist with SOPs and store procedures.
