Job summary

Michaels Stores in Overland Park, KS is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and run kids’ birthday parties and in-store events, engaging guests and teaching crafts while managing add-ons for a fun, safe experience.

You will help customers locate products, assist with checkout, promote Rewards/Private Label Credit Card enrollments, and support BOPIS/SFS processes, stock, and store cleanliness. Creativity and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Energetic, enthusiastic personality essential for interaction with guests of all ages.
• Excellent people skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy retail environment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities required.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events including children’s birthday parties and other craft events.
• Engage with guests aged 4–94+ creating a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate projects, perform face painting, and lead activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons like goody bags, balloons, etc., to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; handle admin tasks.
