Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Transplant Coordinator (RN) to manage the waitlist and coordinate pre- and post-kidney transplant care. You will educate patients, liaise with NEOB and referring hospitals, and ensure regulatory compliance within UNOS guidelines.

The role involves ambulatory clinic work with some inpatient rounding, collaborating with nephrologists, surgeons, social workers, and other coordinators. Requires MA RN license, BSN, and transplant experience.

Qualifications

• Requires BSN and MA nursing license
• Certification required after first year of hire
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience; transplant or dialysis experience preferred
• Experience with outpatient settings and large patient populations preferred
• Ability to work independently in a regulated transplant environment

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients and families through the transplant process
• Meet with potential recipients and discuss transplant options
• Provide pre- and post-transplant education and discharge teaching
• Coordinate pre-transplant evaluation testing and tissue typing
• Serve as liaison with referring hospitals, NEOB, and UNOS
• Maintain patient lists and documentation per regulatory requirements
• Participate in transplant committee meetings and data reporting
