Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED with at least 2 years’ experience working with young children.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be professional, courteous and friendly, have a high level of initiative and be a self-starter.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, reward and retain staff across multiple dimensions of diversity.
• Provide direct supervision of program daily responsibilities in morning, evening, and weekend programs.
• Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Maintain regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
• Schedule staff to ensure areas are adequately staffed per guidelines.
• Assist in organization of program reports and staffing numbers.
• Lead regular staff meetings with Program Director.
• Communicate policy and procedures to YMCA members.
• Ensure staff certifications are maintained.
• Assist in planning, organizing, and producing written communications to staff and members.
• Report maintenance needs and coordinate follow-up.
• Manage inventory and supplies.
