Job summary

Theuniversityunion is seeking a Kid Zone Supervisor in Raleigh, NC for weekend and some evening/night shifts. This part-time, non-exempt role provides direct supervision to staff caring for children in our YMCA Kid Zone, upholding the organization’s safety and customer service standards.

You will lead staff, model positive interactions, maintain clear communication, coordinate coverage, and assist in activities while adhering to YMCA policies and safety procedures; the position requires 2+ years

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required with at least 2 years’ experience working with young children.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Must obtain certifications through the YMCA in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen (or equivalent) within first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision to staff during the shifts in Kid Zone.
• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
• Leads the staff by role modeling child and member engagement at all times.
• Communicates with the Program Coordinator/Director regarding any questions or concerns.
• Communicates effectively with members on Kid Zone policies and procedures.
• Ensures that safety procedures are known and followed by the staff in Kid Zone Care and Kid Zone Classes.
• Checks coverage before each shift begins and coordinates with the Program Coordinator/Director to ensure adequate coverage according to branch guidelines.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to dress code, medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
