Kansas Department of Health and Environment is seeking an Intern to assist Virology/Serology staff with moderate complexity laboratory tasks and rotate through the four Health Units. The position (K0247841) Intern will primarily assist Virology/Serology staff with moderate complexity laboratory tasks and will also rotate through the other three Health Units (Newborn Screening, Clinical Microbiology, and Molecular Diagnostics). Intern will provide support to KDHE scientists. Intern will assist with maintaining laboratory equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Intern will provide support to Unit managers and Section Chief as needed. Intern will also assist other laboratory sections as needed. These sections include Safety and Security, Quality Assurance, Environment, Laboratory Operations. This will provide the intern with a well rounded picture of KHEL and also help ensure KHEL operational needs are being met.
