Job summary

Harting Americas is seeking a highly driven Key Account Manager – Semiconductor to plan and execute business development with designated national accounts and major OEMs. The role is remote but based in Austin, TX, requiring up to 30% travel.

You will drive growth by aligning Harting products and services with customer needs and coordinating across product management and market development. The ideal candidate has an engineering degree and 5+ years in tech sales, with CRM and SAP experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
  • 5+ years in technical solutions selling or equivalent.
  • CRM and SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

  • Map and engage designated KAM accounts and key OEMs/distributors.
  • Evaluate connectivity potential and share of market vs. competitors.
  • Develop and execute medium- to long-term penetration plans.
  • Build relationships with senior account stakeholders and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with Market Development and Product Management for new opportunities.
  • Design in Harting products in customer equipment and systems.
  • Review plans to create cost-effective Harting solutions.
  • Provide technical training to client teams as needed.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports, forecasts, and budgets.

We are seeking a Key Account Manager – Semiconductor (Remote; based in Austin, Texas) to plan and execute business development activities to penetrate designated National and Key Accounts with the full range of HARTING products and technologies and achieve budgetary and medium term sales goals.

HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to HARTING customers and positions itself as the go-to source expert for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard product, designed-in value-added products, and Product Development initiatives. The Key Account Manager–Energy will drive forward Energy Generation, Transmission, and Distribution across a range of Energy infrastructure applications.

To succeed in this role, you will be highly driven to:
  • Map network of manufacturing plants, design and decision making centers, supply chain methods, subcontractors, contract manufacturers and distributors associated with the designated, key accounts as well as new, developing markets.
  • Evaluate the overall connectivity potential and determine the share of this potential by competitors on an on-going basis.
  • Propose and execute with management support, medium to long term penetration plans to maximize HARTING’s share of this potential and identify profitable new product development opportunities.
  • Develop business relationships at the highest possible levels within both the Key Account as the major sub-contractors, to cement the company to company relationships and early access to future business.
  • Closely coordinate all project activity with both Market Development Management as well as with Product Management so as to ensure an efficient two way flow of information between HINA and the corporate divisions and departments regarding product development, evaluation of potentials and international coordination, as needed.
  • Design in HARTING products in to Account’s equipment and automation lines by working closely with customer’s engineering and supply chain personnel in order to gain approval for corporate specifications or individual project approval.
  • Review plans, and other customer and industry standards to develop and prepare cost effective solutions utilizing HARTING solutions.
  • Analyze and propose changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services which would result in cost reduction or improvement in operation.
  • Provide technical training to employees of client as needed.
  • Prepares monthly reports to HARTING management on sales activity and forecasting monthly sales and prepare annual forecasts and medium term goals for planning purposes.
  • Represent HARTING at tradeshows related to Account’s business.
  • Maintain a timely and reliable record of all Account activity in CRM.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and experience to thrive in this role:
  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, Industrial Technology or other technical degree).
  • 5+ years of experience and/or training in technical solutions selling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior knowledge and use of CRM, SAP preferred.
  • Travel up to 30%

Compensation:
  • HARTING'sTotal Compensation Structure includes aBase Salary andBonus Percentage.
  • Competitive base salary: $120,000 - $155,000 (commensurate with experience, subject to change dependent on physical location)
  • This role iseligible for a 20% discretionary annual bonus.
