Job summary

The Salvation Army in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Seasonal Operations Associate to recruit, train, and supervise kettle staff and volunteers. You will coordinate schedules, track hours, and ensure all locations are adequately staffed during peak fundraising periods.

You will interact with staff, volunteers, and the public, maintaining records and reports on kettle activities. A valid driver’s license and ability to drive 50-75% of the time are essential for mobile site coverage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year experience with kettle fundraising preferred or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License often required by role and driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, recruits, screens and select bell ringing staff and volunteers to ensure full coverage at all sites.
• Plans, schedules, and assigns work; trains staff and volunteers; checks work progress and validates accuracy and adherence to Salvation Army policies.

Location: Annapolis, MDSchedule/Hours: Seasonal, full-time (may work 6 days weekly)Hourly Range: $16.00 - $18.00 hourlyThis position is responsible for:Recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring the work of seasonal employees and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepare records and reports regarding the same.Key Responsibilities:Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff and volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively.Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Duties are usually performed seated.
