Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher in establishing a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Consults with teacher on plans and curriculum activities.
• Assists the teacher in preparing and maintaining classroom materials and supplies.
• Participates in staff meetings and school activities; commits to personal growth.
• Observes the strengths and needs of each child; helps set individual goals.
• Supports classroom environment respecting cultural backgrounds, languages and learning styles.
• Assists in planning, implementing and documenting curriculum activities across developmental areas.
• Works with teacher to foster a positive self-concept for students.
• Attends parent meetings and collaborates with families.
• Provide for students' physical needs, including diapering.
