Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or 60 college credits or ParaPro Assessment passing score.
• Special requirements include immunization, health training, and ability to lift 10–60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher in establishing and maintaining a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
• Consults with teacher on plans and curriculum activities.
• Assists in preparing and maintaining classroom materials and supplies.
• Participates in staff meetings and school activities and engages in personal growth.
• Observes each child's strengths and needs to set individual goals.
• Supports diversity, languages, and learning styles in the classroom.
• Assists in planning and documenting curriculum activities across developmental areas.
• Helps create an environment that fosters each child's self-concept.
• Attends parent meetings and collaborates with staff to involve parents.
• Provides for students' physical needs, including diapering.

Education
