Job summary

Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School in Worcester, MA is seeking an experienced Special Education Evaluation Team Leader to ensure DESE compliance and high-quality evaluation services for K-6 students. The ETL leads IEP team processes, oversees evaluations, and coordinates referrals, transitions, and documentation in partnership with the Special Education Department.

Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, the successful candidate will apply best practices in assessment,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education or related field with admin/supervision coursework
• DESE certification as Special Education Teacher or Related Service Provider
• SEI Endorsement required
• Experience with diverse learners and compliance management

Responsibilities

• IEP Team Leadership: chair IEP meetings and oversee development/implementation of IEPs
• Compliance Oversight: supervise evaluation process and DESE reporting
• Referrals & Transitions: coordinate referrals and transition planning across grade levels
• Policy & Regulation: implement state/federal requirements and discipline procedures
• Staff Consultation: advise on assessments, curriculum modifications, and accommodations
• Community & Agency Liaison: engage with families and state agencies
• Professional Development: participate in ongoing training to stay current
• Collaboration: work with Special Education Leadership Team on resources and delivery
