Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide instruction in the absence of the teacher of record for Grades K-5. The role requires completing the GCPS Substitute Teacher Training within 30 days or possessing a valid teaching certificate, along with an associate degree or 60 semester/90 quarter hours from a PSC-approved institution.

Applicants must submit transcripts and may have prior substitute teaching experience.

Qualifications

Satisfactory completion of GCPS Substitute Teacher Training Program within 30 days of hire or possession of a valid/expired professional teaching certificate.
Minimum of associate degree or 60 semester/90 quarter hours from PSC approved institution.
Copies of transcripts from each college/university attended.

Responsibilities

Provide classroom instruction in the absence of the teacher of record.
Conduct supervised small groups based on lesson plans from the teacher of record.
Maintain classroom management and behavior interventions as directed by the teacher of record.
Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school staff.
Follow district policies and IEP requirements where applicable.
Meet professional responsibilities including punctuality, attendance, and collaboration with school staff.
