Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking qualified substitutes to support classrooms district-wide. You will provide instruction, follow lesson plans, supervise students, and implement behavior management under the teacher of record.

Strong communication with parents, staff, and students is essential, along with adherence to district policies and IEP guidelines when needed. GCPS substitute training or appropriate credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of GCPS Substitute Teacher Training Program or possession of a valid/expired teaching certificate (or letter of eligibility).
• Minimum 60 sem hours or 90 quarter hours from PSC-approved college/university.
• Previous successful teaching or substitute teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction for the teacher of record.
• Proctor standardized tests with appropriate training.
• Maintain classroom management and behavior strategies.
• Organize learning environment to maximize student time on task.
• Communicate with parents, colleagues, and school staff as designated by the teacher of record.
• Follow district policies and IEP requirements when applicable.
• Assist with professional responsibilities and meetings as requested.
