Job summary

Evanston/Skokie School District 65 is seeking an Educator for Individualized Education Services at Foster Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role centers on implementing IEPs, collaborating with teams, and supporting students with identified disabilities.

Responsibilities include testing, progress reporting, and coordinating with families. A $5,000 bilingual special education bonus is offered for qualified candidates with credentials and bilingual proficiency.

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Illinois Professional Educator License or License with Stipulations.
Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBSI) endorsement.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with emotional, behavioral, and academic needs preferred.
Experience developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

Responsibilities

Administers developmental testing programs and/or assessments to determine student competency and develop IEPs.
Advises parents/guardians on student progress and methods for improvement.
Advocates for student needs and ensures timely implementation of IEP components.
Collaborates with parents, administrators, related services providers, and other professionals to develop IEPs and related plans.
Directs assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers.
