Job summary

Evanston/Skokie School District 65 is seeking an Educator in Individualized Education Services to support students with identified disabilities. The role requires managing a caseload, developing and monitoring IEP progress, adapting curriculum, and collaborating with a team to provide inclusive education.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, communicating with parents, and ensuring compliance with IEPs and related plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field is required.
• Illinois Professional Educator License or License with Stipulations is required.
• LBSI endorsement PK-2 or PK-22 is required.
• Early Childhood Special Education credential is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with students with emotional, behavioral, and academic needs preferred.
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Knowledge of IDEA and related laws governing students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Administers developmental testing and assessments to determine learning plans and progress.
• Advises parents on student progress and improvement strategies.
• Advocates for student needs and ensures timely implementation of IEP components.
• Assesses progress towards objectives and provides feedback to students, parents, and administration.
• Collaborates with parents, administrators, and professionals to develop IEPs and BIPs.
• Communicates with administration and parents to fulfill professional responsibilities and share information.
• Develops and monitors IEPs, safety plans, and accommodations for students with disabilities.
• Directs staff and supports inclusion of students in general education settings.
• Prepares written reports and materials documenting progress and mandated requirements.
