Job summary

Seattle Public Schools seeks a dedicated Academic Intervention Spec - Reading/Math to support literacy interventions for K-5 students under the principal's direction. You will plan targeted lessons and monitor progress to help every student succeed.

The role focuses on managing Tier 2 interventions, using assessments such as DIBELS, ORF, SIPPS, and data to place students appropriately, and collaborating with teachers and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and preparation to teach a culturally, racially and economically diverse urban student population.
• Valid Washington State teaching certification with Endorsements for Middle/High or Elementary Education.
• Classroom teaching experience in an urban school system.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide Tier 2 literacy intervention for K-5 students.
• Assess students using DIBELS, ORF, SIPPS and placement data.
• Lead and support SIPPS groups and coordinate with tutors.
• Communicate with teachers and families about progress.
• Present literacy intervention program to PTSA and staff.
