Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking an Academic Intervention Spec - Reading/Math to lead tier 2 literacy interventions for K-5 students. The role includes data-driven assessments, SIPPS-based instruction, and collaboration with teachers and families to support student growth.

The position also involves supervising tutors, leveraging Lexia CORE5 for additional support, and presenting program outcomes to PTSA and staff while maintaining records and alignment with SPS policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and preparation for teaching a culturally, racially and economically diverse student population in an urban school system.
• Knowledge of district policies and SPS curriculum; ability to implement them in diverse classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Manage tier 2 literacy intervention program and assess K-5 students.
• Place students in intervention groups using data (DIBELS, ORF, SIPPS).
• Communicate with teachers and families.
• Teach tier 2 literacy intervention groups using SIPPS.
• Support tutors and use Lexia CORE5 as intervention support.
• Present program results to PTSA and staff.
• Plan instruction that meets diverse needs and maintains records.
