Job description

INTERNAL POSTING ONLY

K-4 Summer School Teacher 2026

Classroom teacher to provide instruction and intervention for enrolled summer school students in Kindergarten through fourth grade. We will have a literacy AND math focus this year.

Applicants MUST be available on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 8 am - 4 pm for professional development related to the summer school math and literacy programs and to prepare their own classroom materials and supplies.

Program Dates and Times (teachers need to be present for all four weeks of summer school):

• Student dates and hours: 7/13/2026-8/6/2026; Monday thru Thursday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
• Staff dates and hours: 7/9/2026-8/6/2026; Monday thru Thursday, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm (on 7/9/2026 and 8/6/2026 from 1:30-4:30 pm, additional 3 hours to set up and tear down)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Current teaching certification for K-5, all subjects
• Enrollment in LETRS training

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• SCEA membership
• LETRS training COMPLETED
• UFLI and Heggerty trained
• Strong literacy background in grades K-5

$45 an hour

K-5 Michigan Teaching Certificate Required

FLSA Status: Exempt
