Job summary

Alpha is hiring Academic Coaches for full-time, on-site roles at Alpha campuses nationwide. You will coach K-3 students through app-based core learning, diagnose gaps, and deliver short, structured-literacy sessions.

You’ll lead morning launches, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities, drive weekly app goals with gamification, and remain with students through lunch and closing. Relocation support available; a bachelor’s degree and structured-literacy training are required.

Qualifications

• Willing to work on-site at a campus listed above, with relocation support.
• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar settings.
• At least 2 years of that experience coaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (e.g., LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS) or a master’s in reading/literacy.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; a teaching certificate is not required.
• Comfortable guiding students through app-based learning ~90% of the day and reading sessions ~10%.
• Willing to work with all K-3 students, not only struggling readers.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning, spotting gaps, and setting daily goals.
• Running short structured-literacy sessions with two to four students and teaching a designed sequence.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities for six-year-olds.
• Driving students to weekly app goals with gamification and leaderboards.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, and closing, addressing frustration with a plan.
