Job summary

MaST Community Charter School in Philadelphia seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to design and deliver instruction for students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained or collaborative setting. Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. in Education and valid PA teaching certificate.
• State teaching certificate in appropriate content area.
• Knowledge of curriculum design, instruction, and assessment methods.
• Strong knowledge of special education law and IEP development.
• Ability to write IEP goals and implement interventions.
• Experience writing behavior plans and coordinating with teachers.
• Knowledge of Common Core and PA Standards; data analysis.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• GSuite familiarity (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct a balanced instructional program tailored to student needs.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using diverse methods.
• Establish objectives for lessons and communicate them to students.
• Adapt materials and instruction to meet varying needs.
• Maintain accurate student records and assessments.
• Confer with parents and staff to resolve academic and behavioral problems.
• Administer tests and monitor progress toward IEP goals.
• Collaborate with staff to plan lessons and schedule IEP meetings.
• Incorporate technology and STREAM concepts into daily lessons.
