Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. in Education and PA teaching certificate.
• Knowledge of curriculum design, instruction, and assessment.
• Expertise in IEP development and intervention strategies.
• Strong knowledge of Special Education law and code.
• Ability to implement and monitor IEPs and accommodations.
• Proficiency with Common Core and PA standards.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in GSuite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using varied teaching methods.
• Establish clear objectives for lessons and communicate them to students.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for activities.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet varying needs and interests.
• Establish and enforce behavior rules and procedures.
• Observe and evaluate student performance, behavior, and development.
• Assign and grade class work and maintain timely assignments on class websites.
• Administer tests and evaluate progress.
• Confer with parents, teachers, and administrators to resolve issues and develop curricula.
• Maintain accurate student records as required by laws and policies.
• Assist with remedial programs and plan lessons with staff.
• Meet with professionals to discuss student needs and progress.
• Incorporate technology and STREAM concepts into daily lessons.
• Prepare for classes with written lesson plans; provide evidence when requested.
• Ensure safe use of equipment and materials to prevent injuries.
• Organize activities promoting physical, mental, and social development.
• Plan field trips and guest speakers to enrich learning experiences.
• Support teachers with IEPs and accommodations in the caseload.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and communicate with parents about goals and progress.
