Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a full-time STRIVE K-2 teacher at Matheny-Withrow Elementary School in Springfield, Illinois. The ideal candidate will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and communicating with families to support student learning and behavior. Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement required.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal communication skills in working with teachers, students, parents and staff.
• Ability to informally assess learning and behavioral needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons using evidence-based strategies.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as ABA, Structured Teaching.
• Implement the approved curriculum with fidelity.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies.
• Collect data on student progress towards IEP goals.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
