Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a qualified educator to join our team to support special education and general education staff. The role involves implementing IEPs for students on the caseload and working under the building principal’s direction.

Candidates will have an Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement and teaching or student-teaching experience; strong communication, organization, and data-based progress monitoring are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 elementary endorsement.
• Proven teaching or student teaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal communication with staff, students and parents.
• Strong knowledge base of secondary curriculum.
• Excellent organization and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with intervention strategies and progress monitoring.
• Ability to model teaching strategies for diverse learners.
• Ability to assess learning/behavior using documented data.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with all special education and general education staff
• Work under the direction of the building principal
• Provide instruction as determined by the students’ IEPs
• Participate in the development of comprehensive Individual Education Plans for identified students including behavior intervention plans
• Provide consultation, technical assistance and training to teachers and parents of students experiencing learning or behavioral problems
• Provide information to parents relative to strategies that can be used at home to support the school’s efforts
• Take responsibility for implementation of IEPs for students on assigned caseload
• Other duties as assigned
