Job summary

Young World Physical Education is hiring a Special Education Teacher for grades K-2 in Springfield, Illinois. The teacher will work collaboratively with general education and special education staff, provide instruction according to Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and support students with their learning needs. Ideal candidates will possess a valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement and have experience in teaching, alongside strong communication and problem-solving skills. Full-time position with responsibilities under the direction of the building principal.

Qualifications

• Successful teaching or student teaching experience is required.
• Ability to informally assess learning and behavioral needs of students.
• Strong knowledge base of secondary curriculum is essential.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with special education and general education staff.
• Implement IEPs for students on assigned caseload.
• Provide instruction as determined by students’ IEPs.
