Job summary

Zion Elementary School District 6 is seeking a Health Aide to support student health services on site. The role involves providing basic first aid, screening students, and coordinating with the district nurse and families to ensure health needs are met.

The Health Aide will maintain health records, assist with health programs and manage clerical duties in a busy health office, including data entry and health database entries.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting course or a minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office.
• Familiarity with medical database systems.
• Spanish fluency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic first aid procedures and screen ill or injured children.
• Administer medications to students with a completed Medical Authorization form on file.
• Schedule students for and conduct screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and arrange follow-ups as needed.
• Prepare, maintain and enter health-related information in forms and in the student management system.
• Assist with data entry and clerical duties as required.
