Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Florida seeks a Health Aide to provide direct health services to students, perform mandated screenings, and maintain accurate immunization and health records. This role reports to the campus Assistant Principal of Operations and collaborates with the Director of Health Services.

The incumbent will promote student health education and preventative practices, manage medications at school, and support emergency responses while ensuring compliance with district policies and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One-year experience in a health-related position preferred (experience with school-age children preferred).
• Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) OR a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
• Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid required.
• Preferred: Certification by state health services to conduct vision, hearing, spinal, and AN screenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care using professional assessment and school health protocols.
• Notify parents of accidents or illnesses and arrange medical care as needed.
• Coordinate administration of medications at school.
• Review immunization records and maintain health records for all students.
• Develop and implement mandatory health screenings and refer as necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians, parents, teachers, and health staff on student health plans.
