Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of proper English usage, spelling, and grammar; standard office procedures and practices; basic first aid; CPR.
• Ability to be flexible to meet varied needs of the handicapped; meet physical requirements to perform duties.
• One year of general clerical and typing/word processing experience.
• Some health related experience preferred.
• Successful applicant will obtain CPR/First Aid within the first five months.
• Criminal history check will be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and update student health/immunization records and files.
• Administer first aid and perform routine non-technical activities for ill/injured students.
• Assist nurse in health programs (hearing/vision testing, immunizations compliance) and related duties.
• Maintain medication authorization forms and logs; administer emergency medications as needed.
• Maintain logs/records of student visits to health office; ensure state law compliance.
• Support clerical operations (typing, filing, recordkeeping) in school health office.
