Job summary

Harrison School District 2 is seeking a Health Aide to administer first aid and medical care for ill or injured students and staff. You will maintain health records, coordinate Medicaid billing, and support immunization compliance across the district.

The role involves organizing health screenings, advising families, and serving as a resource to outside medical professionals. CPR/First Aid certification is required; some lifting and fingerprinting are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Training as EMT, Medical Assistant or CNA desired.
• 0–2 years experience in related field.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work with children and children with special needs.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate and administer first aid to ill or injured students or staff.
• Collect and maintain health information and state reports.
• Coordinate Medicaid billing forms and log clinic activities.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
• Notify parents of illnesses and coordinate follow-up care.
• Provide treatment referrals and information to families.
• Organize health screenings (vision, hearing, dental, scoliosis) and track results.
• Notify staff of significant health concerns and attend meetings as needed.
• Order and maintain health supplies and equipment.
