Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center is seeking enthusiastic K-12 teachers to support elementary through high school students in Reading, Writing, and Math. We use pre-planned lessons and small groups of up to three students, with flexible scheduling.

This role emphasizes in-person teaching, with shifts in the afternoon or Saturday mornings, and opportunities to assist homeschool families in the mornings. A four-year degree or equivalent is required, and state teaching credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Four year degree or equivalent required.
• State teaching credentials preferred (current or expired).
• Minimum of one or two years of teaching/tutoring experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Phonics, Reading Comprehension, & Grammar preferred for reading/writing teachers.
• Ability to support foundation Math Facts Fluency up to Algebra - Calculus preferred for math teachers.
• Ability to implement manipulatives/resources into the provided lessons.
• Ability to multi-task and manage up to 4 students at a time.

Responsibilities

• Lead instruction for small groups (max 3 students).
• Use pre-planned lessons; easy to manage and fun to teach.
• Teach students in a small group setting and provide motivation.
• Adapt to scheduling and support homeschool families when needed.
