Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center of Bowling Green, OH is seeking a part-time Tutor/Teacher to support K‑12 students, focusing on beginner reading and math, with schedule flexibility across the Bowling Green, Waterville, and Fremont sites.

Teach with the Sylvan curriculum in small 3:1 groups, covering Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, SAT/ACT prep, and state exam preparation. Maintain a positive, engaging learning environment and document student progress for center directors.

Qualifications

Passion for motivating and encouraging children.
Experience working with children (e.g., camp counseling) is a plus.
State teaching certification desirable but not required.
Familiarity with educational technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

Deliver quality education using the Sylvan curriculum in small‑group 3:1 settings.
Teach K‑12th grade subjects including Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills, SAT/ACT prep, and state exam preparation.
Inspire and motivate students, develop rapport, and maintain a positive, engaging learning environment.
Supervise students during instruction, facilitate use of equipment and materials, and reward completion of assignments.
Evaluate and document student progress; communicate student needs to center directors.
