Job summary

Sylvan Learning is seeking a part-time Instructor to provide personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, Math, Study Skills and exam prep. You will teach in a small 3:1 group, using Sylvan curriculum, with on-site training and ongoing development.

Previous teaching or tutoring experience is required. You will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and work with students, documenting progress and communicating needs to the center manager, while maintaining enthusiasm and a positive learning

Qualifications

• Previous teaching or tutoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach using Sylvan based programs
• Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials
• Reward students for completed assignments
• Evaluate and document student progress
• Communicate student needs to the center manager
• Develop rapport with students and establishes a fun learning environment
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan
