Job summary

Southern Oregon Education Service District in Oregon is seeking a dedicated in-person interpreter to serve K-12 students with diverse communication needs. The role supports professional growth, collaborates with a team of educational interpreters, and aligns with the Code of Professional Conduct.

Responsibilities include accurate interpretation, supporting classroom teachers, attending conferences and IEP meetings, maintaining an interpreter log, and providing tutorial support as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• EIPA or RID certification preferred or required.
• Bachelor’s/Associate degree from an interpreter program or related field acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret/transliterate information accurately for students, parents, and staff.
• Instruct and orient teachers about interpreter role and classroom adaptations.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional conduct codes.
• Attend conferences, IEP meetings, and staff trainings as requested.
• Provide tutorial support and act as liaison between PDHH and staff.
