Job summary

Lebanon Community School District in Lebanon, Oregon is seeking an Educational Interpreter to provide ASL/English interpretation and transliteration in classrooms, field trips, and assemblies for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

The role requires RID certification or a satisfactory EIPA score, a related degree, and strong communication and teamwork with families and staff. Salary follows the negotiated LEA union contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Interpreter Education or related field.
• Passing EIPA Written Test or RID certification is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with an educational team.
• Criminal history clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and transliterates in educational settings including classroom, conferences, and assemblies.
• Interpret for students, parents, and professionals at IFSP/IEP meetings and school activities.
• Work with teachers to plan and teach staff in use of assistive technology.
• Demonstrate fluency in ASL/English and adapt to learners’ needs.
• Maintain confidential records and coordinate with the educational team.
