Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions in Norfolk, NE is seeking a hands-on Food Service Director to lead our K-12 school nutrition program. You’ll oversee daily kitchen operations, mentor your team, ensure safe, high‑quality meals, and partner with school staff to create positive dining experiences.

This is a role for leaders who value teamwork, continuous improvement, and community impact. A associate or bachelor’s degree with 2 years of school nutrition experience is required; food safety knowledge and ServSafe

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant field with at least 2 years of school nutrition experience.
• Experience in a food service supervisory role is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, time management, and organizational skills; knowledge of food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily food service operations to ensure smooth meal service.
• Lead, train, and support a team in a positive, team-focused environment.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards (HACCP, USDA, OSHA).
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls.
• Plan menus, support promotions, and drive student satisfaction.
• Build relationships with school staff, administration, and the community.
• Monitor labor and food costs and overall financial performance.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop team members.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.
