Job summary

Lunchtime Solutions, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Food Service Director for a K-12 program in Storm Lake, IA. You will oversee daily operations, guide a team, ensure safe, high-quality meals, and drive student satisfaction throughout the school year.

You’ll lead staffing, manage inventory and costs, and partner with staff and the community to deliver excellent nutrition experiences for students and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree with relevant major or concentration; minimum 2 years in school nutrition program.
• Experience in a food service supervisory role preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServeSafe preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily school nutrition operations and meal service.
• Lead, train, and develop a team in a positive environment.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards (HACCP, USDA, OSHA).
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls.
• Plan menus and promotions; drive student satisfaction.
• Build relationships with school staff, administration, and community.
• Monitor labor and food costs; monitor financial performance.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop team members.
