Fort Worth ISD in Fort Worth, Texas seeks a district-level Behavioral Specialist to assist campuses in building capacity to support students with challenging behaviors in the least restrictive environment. The role focuses on preventing and addressing social-emotional deficits impacting learning through both general and special education strategies.

The incumbent develops behavior modification experiences, builds or adapts IEPs/BIPs, and provides ongoing intervention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Master's degree preferred in Education, Mental Health, Human Services, or related field.
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification; or School Counselor, LSSP/LP, LPC, or LCSW license required.
  • 4 years of experience with special populations in educational or mental health settings; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral strategies to support student needs across campuses.
  • Develop and implement pro-social and replacement behavior plans (IEP/BIP).
  • Lead Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and Ukeru trainings; support staff development.
  • Monitor effectiveness of BIPs and adjust to improve student outcomes.
  • Coordinate with parents, teachers, administrators through training and consultation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, parent, staff records.
