Job summary

Temple ISD seeks a Behavior Specialist-Special Education for the 2025-2026 school year to support students with behavioral needs across campuses in Temple, Texas. The role centers on assessment, intervention plan development, and collaboration with teachers and families.

Responsibilities include coordinating functional behavior assessments, implementing behavior intervention plans, and delivering staff and parent trainings to promote positive outcomes for students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and three years experience managing student behavior required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in conducting functional behavior assessments, writing and implementing behavior intervention plans, and working with students with autism or low-incidence disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and/or develop and assist in the implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans for students receiving special education services.
• Collaborates with general ed staff on behavior supports for students not yet identified as eligible for special education, with signed parental consent.
• Provide training to parents regarding effective interventions and behavioral techniques.
• Assists with planning and presentation of professional development programs for special education personnel.
• Assists with planning and presentation of professional development programs for general education personnel as requested by administration.
