Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients in the Content Development team. You will work as a content and assessment expert on standards-based items, passages, blueprints, and AI-enhanced assets across grade levels.

Responsibilities include collaborating with educators and partners, training writers, and supporting test construction while leveraging AI tools to ensure quality and accessibility. Strong communication and adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience required.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content area and educational trends.
• Experience with AI-supported content development or readiness to leverage AI.
• Familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content.
• Proficiency with basic software tools and adaptability to new programs.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to work with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items including MCQs, TE, extended response, and performance tasks across grade levels.
• Help create item/passage/test specifications, blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to ensure quality and accessibility of assessment content.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets into assessment workflows and provide feedback.
• Select, assign, and train writers and educators per standards and best practices.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction activities and review composed test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning, status updates, and reviews.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies relevant to content creation and assessment.
