Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (English Language Arts) to join the Asset Creation team to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients across the United States. The 12-month limited term position focuses on content and assessment expertise, using AI-powered tools to create and review items, passages, and test specifications.

Collaboration with educators and customers is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends.
• Experience with AI-powered content development and evaluation.
• Ability to prompt, refine, and evaluate AI-generated content.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with AI tools and unfamiliar programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Develop item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and other documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development, review, and enhancement of assessment content.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, assign, train item/passage writers and educators to develop items based on standards and best practices.
• Facilitate and support customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Facilitate activities related to test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with the customer in planning, status, and review meetings.
• Work closely with test development managers, other content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and assessment, including AI.
