Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (English Language Arts) to join the Asset Creation team to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will work as a content and assessment expert, collaborating with educators and business partners to ensure accessibility and alignment to standards.

This 12-month limited-term role involves leveraging AI in content creation, guiding item writers, and contributing to test construction and review in a dynamic education

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience required.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher preferred.
• Knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or strong potential to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development, review and enhancement of assessment content.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Help select, assign, manage and train item/passage writers and educators to develop items based on standards and cognitive complexity.
• Facilitate and support customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Facilitate activities related to test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with customers including planning and status meetings.
• Work with test development managers, other content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and AI.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
