Job summary

Pearson seeks a Specialist, Content Developer (English Language Arts) to join the Asset Creation team and help develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will work as a content and assessment expert, collaborating with educators, education departments, and business partners to ensure standards-based assessments are accessible to all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary content area preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and current educational trends.
• Experience with large-scale assessments preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting and evaluating AI-generated content.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with AI tech and adapt to new tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item specs, test blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to improve assessment content and accessibility.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets in workflows.
• Select and train item writers and educators to create items per standards.
• Support customer meetings with content assessment expertise.
• Assist test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers and participate in planning and status meetings.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson teams.
• Stay current with AI technologies in content creation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
