Job summary

Pearson seeks a Specialist in Content Development to create and review K-12 assessment content for state and district clients. This 12-month limited-term role blends content expertise with AI tools to deliver standards-based items across grade levels.

You will collaborate with educators, psychometricians, and Pearson teams, manage item writers, conduct customer meetings, and stay current with AI advancements to strengthen assessment workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of content area and education trends.
• Experience with large-scale assessments is a plus.
• Ability to leverage AI in content development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels and formats.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support assessment content quality and accessibility.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, assign, train item writers and educators to develop content.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with customers and participate in planning and status reviews.
• Collaborate with test development managers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies relevant to content creation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
