Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist to join the Content Development team to help create K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will work as both content and assessment expert, developing items, passages, and specifications, and leveraging AI to enhance accessibility and quality.

The role involves coordinating with educators, education departments, and Pearson groups, and requires a strong foundation in education and content development. This is a 12-month limited term position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience required.
• Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary education preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and educational trends required.
• Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Ability to evaluate and prompt AI-generated content for education.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to AI technologies.
• Comfort with basic software tools and tech.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items for large-scale assessments across multiple grade levels.
• Develop item, passage, and test specifications, blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to ensure quality and accessibility.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select, train item/passage writers and educators.
• Support customer meetings with content assessment expertise.
• Assist in test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customer in planning and status reviews.
• Coordinate with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians.
• Stay current with AI technologies in educational content creation.
