Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist for the Content Development team to create and review K-12 assessment content. You will work as a content and assessment expert, leveraging AI-enhanced tools and collaborating with education departments to ensure standards-based, accessible assessments for districts nationwide.

The role is a 12-month limited term position, with responsibilities spanning item development, blueprints, AI integration, and customer-facing activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• 5 years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of content areas and educational trends.
• Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Proven ability to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience with prompting and evaluating AI-generated content.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt to new software tools and AI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels.
• Develop item specifications, test blueprints, and other documents.
• Use AI-powered tools to support content development and ensure accessibility.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
• Select and train item writers and educators based on standards and best practices.
• Meet with customers and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning and reviews.
• Work with Pearson teams including psychometricians and other groups.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and AI.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
