Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist within the Content Development team to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will work as a content and assessment expert, collaborating with educators and partners to create accessible, standards-based content across grade levels.

This 12-month limited term position requires expertise in AI-supported content creation, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary content area preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and education trends.
• Experience with large-scale educational assessment preferred.
• Familiar with AI-supported content development.
• Ability to prompt, refine, and evaluate AI-generated content.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items (MCQ, TE, essay, simulations) for large-scale assessments.
• Create item/passage and test specs, blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Use AI-powered tools to support content development and ensure accessibility.
• Integrate AI-generated assets into assessment workflows and provide feedback.
• Select, train, and manage item writers and educators.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Assist in test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers during planning and review meetings.
• Collaborate with test development managers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies in content creation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
